What can you say about this guy? Surreal comedy is so hit and miss...mostly miss but Eddie Izzard has always been bang on the money. He started as a street performer in Covent Garden in the early 80s and last week I went to see him in Shanghai. In the time between he's become one of the world's biggest comedy stars, acted on both sides of the pond, ran 27 marathons in as many days, performed stand-up in 5 different languages and broken down a lot of barriers for transvestites
