My Bowie Tribute- Selling for Charity

I'm no different to anyone else, if you like music you love Bowie. His death was enigmatic and way too soon, but his life was extraordinary. It's easier to say who's not been influenced by the man and his music. When I heard the news on Monday I was in shock, so I decided not to mope around and instead put a Bowie playlist on and paint a portrait of him. I'm now selling this for a charity that's close to my heart....

You're bound to have been affected by cancer. When my old man was diagnosed 5 years ago it was a huge shock to the family and one of the saving graces was the way he was treated by all the care groups that are available.

Me and dad a few weeks before he died of cancer

These cancer care charities do an amazing job and are mostly funded by donations. I'd like to auction my Bowie portrait to a charity that my family have been involved in for a while CHAS. I'll donate ALL proceeds to this charity.

CHAS is the only charity in Scotland that provides vital hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

Stephen Hart from CHAS said 'I was blown away with Gav's Bowie portrait and we're happy that he's donating all proceeds from the sale of this to our charity.'
